Gamit Magazine

Gamit Magazine

This project involved designing a new gaming character for the popular gaming magazine Gamit, along with a custom magazine logo and a hand-made background. The aim was to create a character and visual identity that felt energetic, nostalgic, and true to classic gaming culture.

I designed the Gamit title with an old-school glitch effect, using layered reds and blues to recreate that retro-screen distortion. For the character, I sketched a space cowgirl inspired by a mix of reference images — including friends posing so I could capture the exact stance I needed. After refining the illustration in Adobe Illustrator, everything was assembled in InDesign, coming together even better in print than I imagined.

Throughout the project, I worked across Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, using extensive pen-tool adjustments and varied colouring techniques to perfect each element. The final outcome is a vibrant, nostalgic tribute to gaming culture with a fresh, modern twist.
