Magazine Covers

Draw & Image, Surrealism & Low-Poly

A creative exploration of three artistic styles, low-poly, draw & image, and surrealism, developed into a final magazine cover inspired by a personal moment with a rescued cow named Kernel.

This project involved creating three digital artworks in distinct styles, low-poly, draw & image, and surrealism, and developing one into a magazine cover design. While I enjoyed experimenting across all three, my favourite piece was the Draw & Image illustration, based on a photo a friend took of me with Kernel, a cow from Moo to Ewe Sanctuary where I volunteered.

The piece quickly became a class favourite as well, so I chose to transform it into a Breathe Magazine cover. This part of the project felt especially meaningful, as I completed my Year 10 work experience with Lovatts Media — the publisher behind Breathe.

The low-poly and surrealism pieces were created in Adobe Photoshop, while the Draw & Image artwork was completed in Adobe Illustrator. The final magazine layout was assembled and refined in Adobe InDesign, combining artistic experimentation with thoughtful, real-world application.
